If he bumps his head and starts to hit hiself in the face, don’t stare, it’s his frustration. Mom will handle it, she sees it everyday. If mom is cutting her child’s food, she’s not treating him like baby. She just doesn’t want her son to choke. If he ignores your child on the playground, he’s not a brat. he’s just not good at social interaction. he would love to play with your child, he just doesn’t know how. He may be to big to sit in the shopping cart, no, he’s not lazy. He wants to run around, but his mom needs to shop. She’s not up for chasing him today. If he has to be carried out screaming, it’s probably because of a meltdown. Be helpful, open the door. Don’t just stare or whisper. No, it’s not because he didn’t get the toy he wanted. If it were only that simple. . Don’t yell, he’s not deaf. he may not talk, but he can understand. No, it’s not bad parenting. Discipline won’t help. This is autism, it’s his life. Don’t judge him, he’s not judging you. ♥ This is my nephew, my godson, the most beautiful little boy I know. When I was first told he had autism I was so upset, I ran out of class in tears and all I could think about was the negative. But in the past few months I have come to realize, autism or not he is the most amazing little boy I have ever met. What three year old can spell dolphin, vulture, urchin, turtle, and much more? What three year old knows sign language? This boy has made such a huge impact in my heart, and I love him with everything I have. His mother is the strongest young woman I have ever met, 19 years old and doing an amazing job at raising him the way he should be raised. I love you two so very much, don’t you ever forget that ♥
